Sam Martineau: Fair Touching

Sam Martineau makes collages on LPs, using the square shape of the covers, the records inside and the plastic sleeves as essential forms. He also produces collages and larger paintings on muslin that marry the rigid lines of modernism to brushy, bright abstraction and decoupaged personal items like matchbooks and tissues. Martineau was born in Springfield, OH, and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. He has exhibited throughout the U.S. from New York to California, most recently at Arts Collinwood in Cleveland and Rawson Projects in Brooklyn.
