Jordan Kantor: Selected Objects (from some time ago until now)

Jordan Kantor: Selected Objects (from some time ago until now) assembles a large collection of works by Jordan Kantor (American, b. 1972), conceived and installed by the artist specifically for CCAD. Comprising works spanning over fifteen years, the exhibition highlights the diverse and interdisciplinary nature of Kantor’s practice and will include painting, photography, drawing, and printmaking, among other artistic mediums. Drawn exclusively from the artist’s own collection—with the selection principle that all pieces be black, grey, or white—the exhibition features many works never before shown, including a new group of large-scale paintings. Jordan Kantor: Selected Objects (from some time ago until now) provides a singular opportunity to survey the artist’s materially-diverse, conceptually-driven practice to date.

Jordan Kantor is a San Francisco-based artist, whose work has been shown in numerous exhibitions, including at Churner and Churner, New York; The Williams College Museum of Art, Williamstown; Ratio 3, San Francisco; The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; The Henry Art Gallery, Seattle; The Seattle Art Museum; Art Statements, Basel; Johnen Galerie, Berlin; Thomas Dane Gallery, London; and Artists Space, New York.  In addition to his studio practice, Kantor writes and lectures on contemporary art subjects and is currently Professor of Graduate Fine Arts and Painting at California College of the Arts.
